Green Smoothie Recipes

Do you want to get more green leafy vegetables in your diet? Are you having trouble preparing and eating large plates of salad? For a quick and tasty solution you might like to try green smoothies. Don’t knock them until you try them! They are surprisingly good.

Below are some fabulous green smoothie recipes from Frederic Patenaude. For more information and recipes go to http://www.fredericpatenaude.com. You might want to start with the Strawberry Romaine smoothie for a very mellow flavour. Once you get used you might like to try one with spinach, then kale etc.

For a quick guide to making the perfect green smoothie you might also like to check out Jessica Ainscough’s site at http://www.thewellnesswarrior.com.au/2011/11/five-steps-to-the-perfect-green-smoothie-2/. With her guide I would suggest that if you start with apple juice, try replacing the portion of apple juice with coconut water or water slowly over time.

Although a Vitamix is the ultimate blender, I have found both the Braun Multiquick with a blender jug attachment and the Ninja Masterprep Pro System work well and are less expensive.
